About the Opportunity

TrendHR is seeking a highly organized and customer-focused Service Coordinator for one of our valued clients in the commercial electrical industry. This is a temp-to-hire, onsite opportunity offering competitive pay and the chance to join a growing team.
The Service Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting commercial electrical service operations by coordinating customers, field technicians, materials, and internal departments to ensure projects and service calls are completed efficiently and on schedule. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, has strong communication and organizational skills, and possesses a working knowledge of commercial electrical materials and terminology.

Key Responsibilities

Scheduling & Dispatch

  • Schedule and dispatch field technicians based on service priorities, technician availability, and customer needs.
  • Monitor technician schedules and adjust assignments as needed.
  • Coordinate job-site requirements prior to technician arrival.

Service Coordination

  • Create, update, track, and close service work orders.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, service notes, and customer records.
  • Monitor open service calls to ensure timely completion.

Customer Service

  • Communicate with customers regarding appointments, service updates, delays, and completed work.
  • Respond professionally to incoming calls, emails, and customer inquiries.
  • Follow up on outstanding requests and service needs.

Materials & Purchasing

  • Order and track electrical materials, parts, and equipment required for service work.
  • Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, warehouse personnel, and subcontractors.
  • Assist with purchasing activities and inventory-related processes.

Administrative & Financial Support

  • Review technician time entries and service documentation for accuracy.
  • Assist with service invoicing, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and purchasing transactions.
  • Prepare service-related reports and support operational planning activities.
  • Assist with service quotes and customer follow-up.

Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of commercial electrical materials and terminology.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to work effectively with customers, technicians, vendors, and internal teams.

Preferred

  • 2+ years of experience in service coordination, dispatching, scheduling, construction administration, or field service support.
  • Experience working with a commercial electrical contractor, service department, or construction company.
  • Familiarity with commercial electrical products such as conduit, wire, fittings, breakers, panels, disconnects, and related components.
  • Experience ordering materials through electrical distributors or supply houses.
  • Experience with dispatch software, ERP systems, CRM platforms, or construction management software.
  • Bilingual Spanish skills are a plus.

  • Ability to respond to urgent service needs and occasional extended hours during peak business periods.
